About This Girl
We have recently been affected by a toy recall, and it has been my personal experience that there is a total disconnect in the way children’s toy manufacturers issue recalls, how, when or if, they are communicated to the retailer and when does the customer find out?
I would call myself an “educated consumer” because I research the manufacturers, their safety guidelines and products before I make a purchase. I go online and read about the company, search for recalls and product warnings. I tend to shop at smaller toy stores, usually independent shops and avoid the big box toy stores. I do not buy toys, of any type, from any of the “dollar stores”.
My objective for this blog is:
To have all children’s toy manufacturers issue recall notices when any one of their products, or product lines have been recalled. The recall notice would be issued regardless of the size of the batch, lot size or item number. The recall notices to be posted on their website, but also devise a direct communication channel to all of their Canadian retailers so they can inform their customer base and follow up on the recall.
Like millions of other parents, I work full-time outside our home while being a full-time parent and I feel compelled to share these entries with other like-minded individuals.
