Zoo Trip

Saturday night Bruce & I took our neices for the night and yesterday we brought them to the zoo. It was my first time at the Edmonton Zoo. I didn’t realize that everything wouldn’t be open this time of the year - like the pony rides, merry-go-round, and train, so we will definitely be going back again this summer. I was proud of Tyler…while we were watching the elephant show he said that he had to go potty. We took his insert with us so I brought him to the bathroom and he peed! That is the first time he peed on the toilet instead of in his actual potty…plus it was somewhere new so I wasn’t expecting him to be willing to do that. I’m not positive if he was able to completely finish his pee though, because the toilet next to ours flushed while he was peeing and he got a fright & jumped off his. He didn’t want to get back on again, so I didn’t press the issue. We got a treat while there. Tyler & I split a snow cone and cotton candy. He didn’t like touching the cotton candy when his hands were getting wet because it stuck to his fingers, and he kept trying to wipe it off. I ended up having to clean his hands everytime after he ate some because he just didn’t like it being stuck to his fingers, lol.

I was able to get to my meeting yesterday morning. It was wonderful…we learned about applying bible principles to marriage and about being yielding in marriage. I really enjoyed it an can’t wait to go again. I actually got the courage to speak up and some of my friends there told me that I made a good point. I’m not going to be able to go again for another month. Over the summer, I’ll begin by going once a month, and eventually work my way up to once a week. We left for the zoo when I got back, and we didn’t leave there until they gave the announcement that they were closing (4:00pm) I’m glad that I packed snacks, because the ice cream we all had wasn’t enough by the time we left and everyone was hungry again. I have to start remembering to do that everytime we go places like that. We promised Kayla that we will take her somewhere next week so she can fly her kite, if the weather allows. She bought it a few weeks ago and hasn’t had a chance to fly it once yet, and she was upset about that a little yesterday because it was a nice, windy day - perfect for flying kite. We would have taken her yesterday but we didn’t have time because we went to the zoo instead. I’m sure they’ll be over to our place again sometime soon.

Well, Bruce is home sick this morning because he has a sour stomach. I’m not surprised because it was pretty sour yesterday and especially last night. He was asleep so I phoned the reception desk where he works and told her that he won’t be in today. I had some difficulty with the lady working there and she informed me that she will not be relaying the message for me because I have to hold and talk to his supervisor myself. I didn’t have time to hold at that paticular moment because my first dhk was about to arrive and I wasn’t ready yet, so Bruce said not to worry about it.
