I did the same as you a few years ago and love my room. The kids know that they have to be careful on mommy's nice quilt :) Your OLD ME stuff - if you love it keep it and if you don't get rid of it. Not that you have time - but maybe consider a small scrapbook -take pictures of the stuff and get rid of the stuff and keep the memories. I am sure among the bad memories are some great ones too.
