Just the Author

Well, I’m a 22 (nearly 23) year old woman married to the love of my life, Jay. We’re expecting our first child, probably (theoretically) a girl, on July 2nd, 2008. We’re going to name her Hannah Susan (Jay’s mother’s name). We don’t know what we’ll do if it’s a boy!

We have a large, active family of animals (four cats - Munchie, Marmalade, Prophet and Simon, and one bunny - Shamrock) and are avid pet lovers. We especially enjoy horses, although we can’t afford one. Our ultimate dream is to own a hobby farm with vegetable garden and stables out back with a couple of nice plodders for us to relax with.

We live with my mother in a townhouse in beautiful Victoria, BC. It’s an unorthodox setup, and all together inconvenient and challenging to make work. I’m sure a baby will only further add to the complexity of it. My husband and I are full time students, so ultimately in an expensive city like Victoria it is the most cost-effective way to live.

This blog is mostly to be about my experiences as a wife, pregnant woman and soon-to-be mother, with some anecdotal information about whatever strikes my fancy at any given time. I am a student of anthropology, with a nearly-complete B.A. under my belt. One of the largest questions on my mind right now is the ever-so-common “what am I going to do with the rest of my life?!” The answer has not yet come to me, but I can assure you in the mean time I’ve probably considered every possible career there is, in addition to Stay at Home Mom (SAHM). We’ll see what the wind blows.
