Uh-oh, my ankles swelled for the FIRST TIME,………..
……………………………hm,……..I know it is part of my pregnancy, but hey, I know I am still pregnant, right?
Last week, I was just getting ready to take DH and DS for a drive to take DH to work when I felt a burst down there. I went to the bathroom and saw,……………………..blood? On my 2nd Anniversary? And I am having another miscarriage? I thought, I give up.
SO DH had to call work to tell them of my situation, so he could stay home for the day to watch DS as I had to go to ER. Turned out, the baby was very healthy with a good heartbeat, so I asked “where was the bleeding coming from?” So I had to be admitted for 3 days in the hospital, given with a hormone injection and a pill given daily to stop the bleeding, as well as FULL bed rest the WHOLE time, and to me, this is NOT a HOLIDAY for me at all (even worse, I had the Explorer in the parking lot for the whole three days and DH can’t use it due to driving restrictions). DH had to miss a total four days of work to raise DS because no one was willing to give a hand (except his brother who went and got the groceries out of the blue for them to have for four days). Mom, at first, told us she couldn’t help out due to work, but her boss (who is expecting, sharing the month we are due in) told her to take time off, but DH told her that everything is dealt with. I don’t know how we did it, but we managed on our own. I had my own phone on bedside so we keep in touch, DH knew his duties as “SAHD”, from cooking, cleaning, bathing DS and brushing his teeth, laundry and dishes, so he did well (so he told me on the phone). For me, I was homesick, missing my guys every minute. The only way to make time pass was either watch TV, share great conversations with Pauline (a 35-yr-old mom of two, third due in October and is diabetic, in for monitoring of her blood sugar level and bringing down her blood pressure) and Meghan (a 19-yr-old, just recently found out she ’s expecting but her morning sickness got severe, she was in for monitoring), and even lots of naptime. Each night at bedtime, I have problems sleeping fully throughout the night, because my tummy was queasy for healthy night snacks (I usually have a bite of baby carrots or fruit to settle down, as well as milk), and as a patient, I can’t have night snacks at all. Oh well. The three days passed by, and by Friday morning, I was told I could go home in early afternoon after I have my last homone injection. Not only I was excited, Pauline and Meghan were excited THEMSELVES. MEghan felt better, was eating good, and her boyfriend (the father of her baby) came to pick her up three hours before I was discharged. Pauline had been discharge the morning after my discharge, as her blood sugar level went back to normal as well as her blood pressure went back down, too. As I was preparing my discharge, DH and DS greeted me in the hospital room (they took the cab) and I was so HAPPY to see them. DS didn’t want to let me go, and cuddled up to me the whole time. DH had to get my keys to bring my Explorer up to the doors so I wouldn’t have to walk that far to the parking lot. Really, I was fine, no cramping the whole time and the bleeding only lasted two days, that was it. The time we get home, both DH and DS (even the cat) didn’t stop cuddling up to me (think that three days was a long time to be away from them? YES!) We had to celebrate our belated 2nd anniversary with a chinese takeout (we originally planned on eating out to a nice restaurant but because I missed home so much, we opted for takeout instead). Don’t worry, we put on a nice lighted candle for the occasion. And yes, DS was with us the WHOLE time, besides, he was “partying” in my tummy when we got married LOL.
Well, after two appointments this week with both my family doctor and the OB/GYN, I was deemed back to normal and still have to take it easy on myself as usual as well get lots of rest everyday. As DS hugs my tummy, he laughs, and looks at my tummy and says,”Baby?” Yep, the baby is moving.
I guess we can go ahead with the plan on purchasing the brand new infant car seat for the little one then.
