Lion Safari trip

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

At coffee Monday, well actually it was drinks and food for 2 of the girls birthdays. Anyway while I was there my playdate buddy asked if I wanted to go to the Lion Safari with the twins and her daughter, I quickly called my Mom and asked to borrow her van since I don’t trust my truck for that drive, she said yes. She then asked if we could bring on of the other ladies along with us since she was being babysit at the grandparents that day, she said yes as well… So as long as the weather was not rainy we were off to the Safari for some play time.

I got up Tuesday at a run, I had to get the older 2 up and out the door and the twins dressed and ready for swimming, as well as a lunch packed for the Safari and all the required clothes and such. After swimming we dropped my Mom off at work and headed home to grab a stroller and snack bag. We met just inside the gate at 11am 2 ladies and 4 2yr olds…. I don’t think we thought this through too much.

Since the Safari had just opened the previous weekend and something weren’t yet running it was a pretty quite day the kids had the play ground to themselves, we got a private train ride and only had to share the bus around the animals with 6 other people, you have to love that.

Allistar, Lucy and Konnor with the goats

The kids were able to check out the deer and goats in the petting zoo and since it was the beginning of the year they were more then happy to come and see all the kids. One of the goats was actually chewing Allistars fingures and he got more mad when we made it stop then when it was being chewed.

I think my worst thing about the day was that Konnor and Allistar refused to stay with m e but with no one around it wasn’t a big deal as long as i could see them. We had some pizza with our lunch and then headed to the buses for a drive around the safari to see all of the different animals.

The kids loved all the animals but the monkeys were the most fun and the one Giraffe, that came right up to the bus and started licking the window, was a hit as well.

We got a little bit of sun and were a little tired since the nap for the day was 15mins in the car on the ride back home… We were only there for a few hours but it was a great afternoon…..

Now totally off topic but I went and talked to my friend and gave him instructions to start looking for a van for me so hopefully in a week or maybe 2 he will have something… Keeping my fingures crossed.

Well I don’t think I have alot to say about the whole night that the pictures don’t tell.

The night started as I rushed to get dinner done  for the family, showered, dressed and attempted to tidy the house since we had company coming the next day. Well I go it all done and D’Arcy arrived home at 4:58, I asked he be home by 5:00pm. Then I tried to sit back and relax and waited for my ride and of course the minuite I walked away from the door guess who showed up….. And we were off to find Shelley

After a quick drop off of Myles and Mandy, and of course we picked up Shelley when we dropped off the others, it was then off to the resturant to meet up with Cara, who was waiting on us.  At the resturant we expected to have to look a little but there at the front waiting on a table was our red headed friend, you couldn’t miss her, although Titia didn’t see her right away… :)

Dinner was great, food was wonderful, the drinks went down easy and the company was easy. We all chatted like old friends, about families, friends and of course CPO. The time flew by and if it wasn’t for Shelley commenting about the kids who knows when we would have gotten up from the table. After some hugs goodbye and a few more minuites of conversation we bid Cara a farewell, her hotel was right next to the resturant, and the rest of us headed off to pick up kids and drop off everyone at home.

But I have to say that it was wonderful to get to met Cara and put a person to the name in realy life. I can’t wait for our next get together, I so wish I was heading East this summer I would love to meet more of you all

Coffee Night

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

Now that my house is quite and everyone is in bed I am going to try and right a little bite and get a good start to this blogging thing.

As I mentioned in my last post, Monday nights are my coffee nights with my CPO girls. Just over a year ago (Dec 2006) I went to a playdate that was planned on CPO and met up with a bunch of different women. Out of that playdate 4 of us became really close, lets see if I can remember their CPO names, AidenLucy(she changed it recently), AndreaM, Aislinsmommy and me Momof4boys, we were all SAHM or on Mat leave so we got together once or twice a week for playdates with our little ones. Slowly though some started to go back to work and playdates got further apart but events still did happen and we got together for fun stuff like Easter parties, these were also with other Moms from CPO such as MMummy, AmberV, Bratmom and I can’t remember everyone elses name on CPO, oh while. Anyway when the summer of 2007 came to a close the 4 original ladies decided we needed a set night out just us to get away from home and life and that is when Coffee Night started on a regular basis. As of December we added another CPO Mom (her name is too hard to remember this late), so now we are 5, we have our ups and downs but we are women after all but we try to put everything aside to sit and just relax for a few hours every Monday night. Once AidenLucy gets back from training for work I will try and get a picture of all of us to post here….. Although on a sad note out of the 5 women I am the only one that is a SAHM, as of today, AidenLucy went back to work so I am now on the search for some new playdate friends for during the week…

Watch out world here I come……

Hi, all, well as I seat down to write my first blog all hell is breaking loose around my house as little ones run by screaming and older ones are asking 20 questions about homework. I guess I am going to have to sit down while children are sleeping to get a good start but not tonight. Tonight is my beloved CPO ladies coffee night, off to Kelsey’s tonight so I will try to write again tomorrow.
