Perhaps bigger for me then it was Myles!
Friday Myles had his JK orientation. I had arranged to take an hour or so off work today so could be there for it, I mean this is a pretty big moment - I did not want to miss it. So imagine my surprise when the teacher handed up the attendance calendar for the next school year - let us know Myles start date and then said - Ok, you can pick him up at 11:50am. I think both Gord and I must have looked a little puzzled, we were expecting to be there. It all makes sense in retrospect tho, we had a info session back in Feb to cover all aspects of the JK/SK FI (French immersion) program. It was then we were able to ask questions, explore further into the pro’s and cons and find out generally about the program.
Gord and I headed out the door, grabbing some lunch while enjoying it in the park. At 11:50 I went into the classroom to pick Myles up. I asked the teacher how he did, while Myles was busily playing at the sand table. The teacher’s reply - very well, he played, made his craft and got along well with the other kids - Great (secretly I was thinking what a relieve). While we were getting ready to leave I asked Myles to put a toy back he was playing with. Yay - Meltdown mode, right in front of the teacher. So I say, please put it back so you can play with it when you come back. I was met with - NO, NO, NO - MINE!!! Well, I thought this is the end of Myles JK career LOL! So, the teacher nicely asks Myles to put the toy back - and guess what - no questions asked the toy went right back where it came from. I then asked her if she wanted to come home with me?? LOL! I suppose it’s true they act better for other’s then yourself!
Walking out to the car to meet daddy, I asked Myles if he liked JK - uh huh mommy he said - I then asked him if he wanted to go back another time. YES mommy - he eagerly replied.
My baby isn’t a baby anymore -
Here are a few photos from his orientation

Yay Myles!
I’m telling you Mandi - I have parents complaining about their monster children and they are angels at school! Not that I am calling Myles a monster…

My kids are much better for their teachers than they are for me! LOL
