I’m ecstatic!! Our doctor had originally told us it could take two to three month’s to get into see a pediatrician, but they called today with an appointment date of July 10. With all the horror stories I had heard regarding how long of a process this could be - I had my mind set to waiting months and months. Now in just over a month we will be taking our first step - and hopefully some getting some guidance on which path we need to persue from there.
I’m not familiar with the pediatrician, but plan on doing some research before we see him or her. I know our family doctor wouldn’t steer us wrong in the respect of a referral, but it never hurts to do your homework right??
Although it seems like an extended time to wait - I’m counting my blessings it’s not the two to three month’s wait we were anticipating!!

I am so happy for you - there are often long waits for specialists and pediatricians.
I think doing your homework is important - it helps you to understand and ask good questions. OUr son Sam was diagnosed with Aspergers a few years ago but we have been working with his quirks since he was about 2 years old. It has not always been easy, but I love my little guy to pieces. He is a gift and a joy and I wouldn’t trade him for anything!
