A family in Progress

My thoughts on day to day life……

Just a nice day…..

I briefly recall Myles mumbling something about his *letter word* game at 6:30 this morning. Next thing I knew….it was 9:30am, Gord let me sleep in. How great is that?!?! I lazily got myself up and stumbled into the bathroom, where Myles met me and clearly had been doing his best to let mommy be and catch a few extra zzzzz’s. Myles quickly asked me to snuggle…..who could resist that?? We hopped back into my bed with a couple of his favorite books his *letter word game*.

About a half an hour later I was met with a hot cup of Hazelnut vanilla coffee and freshly made cinnamon buns by Gord…..yummy, and a sweet gesture!!! Myles quickly engaged himself in an inquisitive episode of Jay Jay the Jet plane. As I was catching up on emails I popped over the Toys R Us flyer and realized they had the Little Tikes playground on sale we had wanted to get Myles. We quickly sold our newly purchased one on Kijiji and then headed to Kitchener to Toys R Us….although they were sold out, they quickly offered a rain check. We did a little shopping around, picking up a birthday gift for our day care providers daughter and a really cool sand toy that Myles had throughly enjoyed at this little friend’s house last summer.

I then did a little shopping for me. After trying on numerous articles of clothing, I finally settled on my purchases. The best part was that I paid half price….thats right….half price!!! Thanks to my dear friend Shelley…..I had a coupon for 50% off a purchase of $80, a $25 g/c AND 10% off because it was my birthday week! WhooooHooooo!

On the way home we stopped off at the park and chased Myles around. He loved going down the *twirly slide* and crossing over the bridge.

We came home to the warm smells of Roast Beef wafting from the slow cooker. We sat down to dinner - salad, roast beef, potato’s and veggies from the slow cooker. Dinner was delicious and Gord did a great job!

Myles is now snuggled warmly in his bed….and with that…….I believe it’s time to sign off, watch Big Brother spend some time with my fiancee!

This day is really one I will always remember, as simplistic as it was it reminded me that sometimes it’s the small things in life that make the biggest difference! Don’t forget to remember the smiles, warm feelings and mouth watering scents! This is really what matters!
