A family in Progress

I must admit Friday is my favorite day of the week!!

Once I knock off work for the day, it’s like a whole lot of freedom coming my way. Two days, with no alarms, snuggling with Myles in bed and hanging out in our jammies all day if we want.

But my favorite thing about Friday are the few hours that I get just to myself. Once I pick Myles up from the day care providers we head home for life on easy street.

Dinner usually consists of throwing a pizza in the oven or take out (mom’s night off ). I have a routine in place that I focus on cleaning our home two nights after work, so that come Friday there is nothing that needs to be done….other then spending some quality time with Myles and myself!

Once dinner is done, Myles will play while I read the paper and flyers (I love checking to see what’s on sale for the following week). It’s a trip to the tub where Myles and I practice phone numbers, address’s and spelling. This is generally followed by a snuggle in our recliner and a few books that Myles will nicely state *READ MOMMY*….LOL! Although I think we may have read a few of these books too many times, as it usually turns out Myles is reading these favorites back to me!!

Once Myles is tucked in bed and sound asleep…..this is where my favorite part take places. Since Gord is still at work…..I get to do whatever I want….it’s just ME!!!! I usually pour a nice glass of wine and dive into catching up with CPO, Facebook or emails. If I don’t become too engaged in some great chat with some fellow CPO’ers, I turn on a chick flick. You know, those movies that you want to see, but are met with rejection from your other half because *those movies are for woman, I don’t want to watch that*, but on the odd occasion you do convince your other half to watch, they love them in secret???

These few hours are sheer bliss. I am able regroup, unwind from the weeks events and decompress.

Not sure what movie is on the agenda yet tonight, or If I will be sidetracked in chit chat with my fellow friends. But I am looking forward to the solitude to take place just hours from now!
