Welcome to Spud Island

For those of you who have not heard of it, the Jack Frost Festival is an annual winter festival held in Charlottetown.  There are snow sculptures, kids shows, outdoor skating rink, animals, horse and sleigh rides, tubing, ice slides, indoor activities and shows, the flying canucks and children’s characters to new a few.  It is such an awesome family event and it seems to get better and better every year.  I took the girls up Sunday afternoon, but I think next year we will have to get a weekend pass and stay overnight.  This years festival was amazing and the girls and I had such a great time.  I’m really looking forward to going next year.

Awesome photos! I think we may try and get there next year, looks like a lot of fun! I wonder if any of the hotels have family suites?

it was an amazing festival. they say 60% of people attending are from out of province.

cara, if you are thinking of coming over be sure to book in december or january. there are some hotels that offer a “jack frost pkg” deal. just check the website for info and they should have the hotels listed. i know they were going to try and get more hotels in on the pkg deal for next year. they have a special shuttle service for the festival to get families to and from the events. there is already talk about expanding the festival for next year so it should be bigger and better than this year. :)
