Do you ever dream of the day when your ordinary life will become an extraordinary life? No more piles of laundry or beds to make. No more lunches or school papers to read — no more field trips, sleepovers, loud music and interrupted conversations.
As mothers we all dream of completed to-do lists and more time for ourselves — looking so far down the road that we often miss out on the joy of the journey we are all on.
Those mundane tasks we tackle on a daily basis can bring us down — or — fill us with gratitude. The gift of family, of children, is one that can be taken for granted if we don’t take the time to truly appreciate the dailiness of our lives.
Simple daily moments can be extraordinary moments if we look for them close enough.
A pile of shoes at the front door and a raided pantry is not more for you to clean up — it’s a home full of life, friends and childhood memories.
Filled pockets at laundry time may seem like junk —instead they are a glimpse into the lives of your children, a chance to see what is important enough to them that they want to hang on to it.
A sink full of dirty dishes offers up time to reflect on where you are today – at this moment in time — each plate, cup and fork representing family — togetherness.
Children grow up fast and while we can’t slow down the process we can enjoy each step of the way.  We all have the ability to slow down, to look closer, to be more thankful and to just be.
